At ECAS, we’re well-versed in working in the business sector, alongside commercial landlords. We understand the demands placed on them to make sure business premises are well maintained, safe and healthy places for people to work.
We’re a preferred supplier because we manage and mitigate risk for them.
For many commercial landlords – whilst they know they have a duty of care to their tenants – they find it a daunting and time-consuming task to make sure they’re operating compliantly and ethically. We take that headache away from them.
Specialising in assessing premises for compliance issues and helping to create a plan for reaching and maintaining compliance – our people are highly trained and accredited in: environmental/health and safety compliance auditing and reporting, food safety practices, equipment testing, risk management, training and education.
Typically, there are two areas we get asked to offer our knowledge and expertise on.
Firstly, many commercial landlords of shopping centres, office blocks and public facilities such as airports and train stations – have a number of food service establishments (FSEs) within their buildings that discharge of fats, oils and grease (FOG). We proactively advise on how to properly dispense with FOG – instead of pouring it down sinks and drains – eventually reaching the sewer network and causing blockages. All of which can lead to flooding in premises and environmental pollution in streams and rivers.
Secondly, we also specialise in making sure commercial landlords are meeting their environmental objectives. By operating sustainably, they save money and improve their brand reputation.
In summary, the typical activities commercial landlords ask us to perform include:
- Fats, oils and grease (FOG) discharge auditing
- Kitchens extract auditing
- Air condition and AHU auditing
- Air testing
- Water testing
- Legionella and portable water testing
- Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS) compliance audits
And what’s more, we’re not affiliated to anybody, nor influenced by commission. This means we’re trusted by commercial landlords to deliver credible, independent advice – and practical solutions that only benefit our commercial landlords and the environment at large.
